our Project Manager! In this position, you will work with a team of
contractors and consultants to coordinate, develop, plan, and lead
various construction activities and projects. Through this position
you will take an integral role in keeping Utah connected and moving
through new development and construction initiatives. This is a
Career-Ladder position (Meaning it can be filled at any of the
following experience levels) Project Manager I: With direction from
the Director of Capital Design and Construction, assists in
overseeing, evaluating, and managing work of UTA consultants and
contractors in conducting planning, environmental studies, design,
and construction activities to complete projects; and/or helps to
oversee provision of technical and business support to those
projects. Assists in selecting and supervising consultants and
contractors. Helps develop and manage project budgets and monitor
progress and accountability. Helps coordinate capital project
development activities with other UTA departments and interact with
other government agencies, which may include FTA and UDOT. Ensures
compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; supports
public involvement and prepares collaboration material for elected
leaders and the community at large.Project Manager II Manages,
coordinates, and supports development activities for capital
development construction projects. Oversees, evaluates, and manages
work of UTA consultants and contractors conducting planning,
environmental studies, design, and construction activities to
deliver projects; and/or helps to oversee provision of technical
and business support to projects. Responsible for or assists in
selecting and supervising consultants and contractors. Develops and
manages program budgets, monitors progress and accountability.
Coordinates capital project development activities with other UTA
departments and interacts with government agencies, particularly
FTA and UDOT. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local
regulations; supports public involvement and collaboration with
elected leaders and the community at large. Makes project-level
decisions, including scope, schedule, and budget. Manages
contracts, designers, consultants, and contractors. Coordinates
with internal and external stakeholders. Develops project-level
strategy to successfully deliver capital projects consistent with
the UTA goals and strategic initiatives.Project Manager IIIManages,
coordinates, and supports development activities for capital
development construction projects. Oversees, evaluates, and manages
work of UTA consultants and contractors conducting planning,
environmental studies, design, and construction activities to
deliver projects; and/or helps to oversee provision of technical
and business support to projects. Responsible for or assists in
selecting and supervising consultants, designers, and contractors.
Participates in resolving key policy issues and other strategic
opportunities associated with UTAs transit program and consistent
with UTA goals and strategic initiatives. Develops and manages
program budgets, monitors progress and accountability. Coordinates
capital project development activities with other UTA departments
and interacts with government agencies, particularly FTA and UDOT.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations;
supports public involvement and collaboration with elected leaders,
MPOs, cities, counties and the community at large. Develops strong
partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Manages major
agency-level strategic projects decisions, in coordination with the
Director of Capital Design and Construction. Identifies and manages
project and agency risks related to projects.Minimum
QualificationsExperience/Education/Licenses/TrainingPROJECT MANAGER
I
- 2-3 years engineering/planning experience including planning,
design, and/or construction of large transportation projects
required.
- 2-3 years of project management experience preferred not
required.
- Bachelors in Civil, Environmental Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study.
(In lieu of a bachelors degree, 4 additional years of experience
will be considered)
- Engineer in Training (EIT) and working towards Professional
(PE) license. - preferred
- To carry out essential functions of this job, must have a valid
Utahs drivers license with no more than four moving violations in
the past three years; or, if a non-driver, must be able to travel
efficiently by another means to and from varied locations within
UTAs service area. Lack of a drivers license does not necessarily
preclude employment. No applicant may have more than one violation
of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs within the
last ten years. PROJECT MANAGER II
- 4-6 years engineering/planning experience including planning,
design, and/or construction of large transportation projects.
- 3-7 years engineering /project management experience including
planning, design, and/or construction of large transportation
projects.
- Project management experience with complicated transportation
projects specifically budgets, schedules, scopes of work,
stakeholders, federal grant requirements.
- Bachelors in Civil, Environmental Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study.
(In lieu of a bachelors degree, 4 additional years of experience
will be considered)
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required or American
Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification
preferred.
- To carry out essential functions of this job, must have a valid
Utahs drivers license with no more than four moving violations in

- Bachelors in Civil, Environmental Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study.
(In lieu of a bachelors degree, 4 additional years of experience
will be considered)
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required or American

preferred.
