Job Description:PRN Position. This position will fill in the
gaps for busy surgery days, vacations, and sick days of full-time
employees. No weekends, holidays, graves, or on call
requirements.
The RN Clinical Expanded Role I is responsible for implementing and
supporting special clinical projects and assignments as designated
by the manager, according to the needs of the department. This
position acts as a resource to the RN Staff position as a knowledge
expert to improve patient care.Position Details:

- This position will fill gaps for busy days, vacations, and sick
leave.
- No weekends, holidays, or graves.
- No on-call requirementsUnit Details:
- We are a very small, tight-knit department who works closely
with anesthesia to provide pain management throughout the hospital,
but the main focus is for surgical patients. We work behind the
"red line" so hospital issued surgical scrubs and hair coverings
required. Minimum Qualifications
- Current RN License in state of practice.
- BLS Certification for healthcare providers.
- Unit specific certification as required (i.e., ACLS, PALS,
etc.).
- (Applicants must either have required additional certifications
(e.g. ACLS, PALs, NRP) upon hire or must obtain them within a
specified timeframe determined by service line and department
guidelines.)
- One year of clinical nursing experience.
- Experience in assigned clinical area.
- Mentoring experience. RNs hired or promoted into this role need
to have or obtain their BSN within three years of hire or
promotion. Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained
from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

with plan of care, guidelines of care, and professional licensure
provisions.Set priorities and coordinates and organizes patient

resources.Evaluate:Evaluates patient response to interventions
through review of achievement of goals, clinical outcomes, and
patient and family satisfaction.Revises plan of care as indicated,
and reassesses changes as appropriate.Professionalism:Promotes
nursing profession and participate in development of
others.Integrates legal and ethical standards into practice:
complies with regulatory standards, practices within scope of
licensure, provides accurate & timely documentation, and
understands legal implications of care delivery.Clinical
Coordination:Provides clinical expertise in assigned specialty
area.Participates within Clinical Program initiatives and processes
and monitors outcomes.Implements department or specialty care area
projects or programs as identified.Assists in policy development
with corporate-wide initiatives. Supports standardization and
development of department protocols, policies, and procedures for
patient care delivery.Consultation / Liaison:Serves as a department
or specialty care area representative on committees or task forces
relating to area of expertise.Serves as a consultant and liaison to
healthcare team members, patients, families, and
community.Education:Acts as a resource, consultant, and mentor to
staff within department or specialty care area.Supports in-services
related to their clinical area of specialty.Research:Utilizes
current research to recommend improvements to nursing practice and
to support the development of standards for nursing care of
specialty patients. Physical Requirements:Ongoing need for employee
to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate
monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent
interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors
that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and
understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly
and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and
-Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and
delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes
frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care,
accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and
-Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer
patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and
equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and
including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with
transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing
supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and
portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to
navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on
the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary
