This position combines creativity with strategy in crafting compelling narratives that highlight the importance of public transit. It offers the opportunity to stay at the forefront of digital storytelling trends and engage with a diverse audience through various online platforms. Additionally, the role allows for innovation in developing strategies that effectively communicate the organization's goals and values.As a Digital Storyteller, you will:

  • Tasked with conceptualizing, creating, writing, filming, and distributing compelling narratives that communicate Utah Transit Authoritys (UTA) value and resonate with the target audience across various digital channels.
  • Develops innovative digital storytelling and story mining strategies that align with the organization's goals and target audience.
  • Researches industry trends and audience preferences to inform content development and distribution strategies.
  • Manages the distribution of stories across UTAs online internal and public social media platforms and newsletters.This job is not eligible for telework. Requires regular and predictable attendance during set daytime hours Monday through Friday in the Salt Lake City UTA FrontLines Headquarters or field assignments. May require infrequent holiday, weekend, or tasks and event support, with advance notice.Minimum QualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
    • Two years of proven professional experience in digital storytelling, online journalism, content creation, or digital marketing for an organization.
    • Preferred experience in:
      • Experience with storytelling for specific digital platforms, such as Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
      • Knowledge of data visualization techniques and tools for creating interactive storytelling experiences.
      • Previous use of Workvivo and Constant Contact tools.
      • Familiarity with user experience (UX) design principles and best practices.
      • Prior use of camera, audio, and computer equipment to produce written, visual, and audio products.
      • Associate degree in journalism, communications, marketing, English, creative writing, or a related field.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
        • Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, SEO principles, and digital marketing strategies.
        • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
        • Proficient in multimedia content creation tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software, and content management systems.
        • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for visual storytelling.
        • Passion for storytelling and a genuine interest in exploring new ways to engage audiences in the digital landscape.
        • Craft compelling narratives for digital platforms.
        • Excellent project management and organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
        • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.- OR -An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.[UTA reserves the right to determine the equivalencies of education and experience.]UTAs benefits package for full-time administrative employees includes:
