Job Description: The Certified Physicist is responsible for the
design optimization, technical evaluation, and precise and accurate
delivery of radiation treatment plans under the guidance of the
Administrative Director/Manager or Chief Physicist. The Certified
Physicist collaborates with the Radiation Oncology Director and the
Radiation Safety Officer to assure the maintenance of a quality
management program and safety for all radiation oncology
activities. Medical Physicist – Radiation Oncology Location:Greater

services to two new locations in 2026, and we’re seeking
anABR-certified or board-eligible Medical Physicistto join our

Radformation suite (ClearCheck, ClearCalc, RadMonteCarlo,
EZFluence, AutoContour, RadMachine) Your Role As a Medical
Physicist, you will: - Provide comprehensive radiation therapy
physics services, including treatment planning and delivery support
for SRS, SBRT, IMRT/IGRT. - Perform equipment acceptance,
commissioning, and ongoing quality assurance. - Conduct chart
checks and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Drive clinical improvements and implement new treatment
techniques. - Be comfortable working independently and
collaboratively in a busy clinical environment. Minimum: - MS, DMP
or PhD in Health or Medical Physics from an accredited institution
(degree will be verified) - ABR Board Eligible in Therapeutic
Medical Physics Preferred: - Certification by one of the following:
- American Board of Radiology (ABR) - American Board of Medical
Physics (ABMP) - Canadian College of Medical Physics (CCMP
Essential Functions - Oversees the development and implementation
of the procedure for calibration of radiation therapy equipment in
accordance with the current standards of the American Association
of Physicist in Medicine (AAPM) and state and federally governed
agencies and formulates and oversees all aspects of brachytherapy
within the department and those procedures performed in other
departments in collaboration with the Radiation Safety Officer
(RSO) to maintain safety standards. - Assumes responsibility for
providing performing calibrations and quality control in compliance
with state regulations and in accordance with the standards of AAPM
on all therapeutic radiation machines as required by the Division
of Radiation Control and commissions new or upgraded equipment to
achieve compatibility with existing machines. - Coordinates with
the Chief Therapist the technical functions in the department in
order to ensure that physician's instructions for simulation and
treatment of patients are carried out as prescribed and intended,
and directs, coordinates and performs all aspects of treatment
planning, preparation of beam shaping devices, etc. - Actively
works as a Medical physicist and provides routine clinical
radiation therapy physicist services, consults with oncologists on
the physical aspects of patient's treatment, and assists in the
development of radiation treatment plans. - Coordinates the
radioactive Materials Licenses issued by the NRC and state agencies
pertaining to brachytherapy sources with the RSO, reports all
variances to administrative staff and the Radiation Safety Officer,
researches new equipment developments and techniques, assess the
impact on and reviews existing local standards, advises on
procurement of new equipment and compiles reports to initiate
changes. - Schedules rotations as appropriate between facilities,
acts as an advocate for new and advanced technology, participates
in the development and implementation of department Quality
Improvement Plan and ensures the delivery of high quality health
care. - Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain
Health, and abides by service behavior standards. Performs other
duties as assigned May provide in-services for staff training,
serve as Radiation Safety Officer, and write policies and
procedures in collaboration with other Radiation Oncology leaders.
Physical Requirements: Physical Requirements - Ongoing need for
employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs,
operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. - Frequent
interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors
that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and
understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly
and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. - Manual
dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate
equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent
computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing
needed information, medication preparation, etc. - Expected to lift
and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also
bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically
includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and
obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes
pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy
items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of
equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) - May be expected to
stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time. -
For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which
requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and
other vehicles. Location: Intermountain Health Park City Hospital

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly
rate dependent upon experience. $91.41 - $141.07 We care about your
